Favorite Cesare & Lucrezia Scene:
This needs no explanation but I’ll try my best anyways. Their lust and their tangible love for each other here is almost to much. The way they sometimes lurch into each other as they look into each others eyes. They way he swallows subconsciously like he is choking down feelings. The moment when you think they might kiss. His fierce protectiveness of her. The palpable wanting in this scene makes it my favorite C&L scene so far.
Cesare: You can take the cloth like me. You can become a nun. Live in sancity and prayer, like Abelard & Heloise.
Lucrezia: …So then I shall become a nun, for I shall never love a husband as I love you Cesare.
Abelard & Heloise
Abelard and Heloise are one of the most celebrated couples of all time, known for their love affair… and for the tragedy that separated them. When their union could no longer withstand the challenges in its path, each lover sought refuge in the church—Abelard became a monk and Heloise an abbess.
